Historic Preservation: Costs, Benefits, and Community Impact
Often when confronted with revitalizing an historic building, people throw up their hands
and resort to demolition before considering the alternatives. Historic preservation tax credits
can lead to a profitable project. Gary will address the economic impacts of historic preservation,
both the positive and the negative, and discuss both residential and commercial properties, their
community impact and how government assistance can make a project feasible.
• Series Location: Veterans Memorial Hall, 211 N. Main St. Rockford, IL, or on Zoom.
A $25.00 registration fee, which includes all three lectures, can be booked at estabarrett.com. Lectures are available in person at Veterans
Memorial Hall, Rockford, IL, or via Zoom. Zoom links will be sent after registration for participating virtually. Recorded presentations will
be emailed after the lectures to those who have registered. For more information, contact Brian Reis at breis@estabarrett.com or 815.964.6464.
This lecture series is a program of Esta Barrett Manor and Gardens, Inc. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, Esta Barrett
