John Borwoski is an award winning independent filmmaker whose works have garnered international acclaim and are distributed internationally on dvd, television, and streaming. Borowski’s “historical horror” trilogy of documentary films focus on late nineteenth and early twentieth century serial killers. He will discuss the killings of the serial killer Ed Gein along with others. John will have copies of his films and books for sale.
For over two decades Chad Lewis has traveled the back roads of the world in search of the strange and unusual. Chad has been featured on the Discovery Channel’s A Haunting, William Shatner’s Weird or What, ABC’s Scariest Places on Earth, and Monsters and Mysteries in America along with being a frequent contributor on Ripley’s Believe it or Not Radio. With a Masters Degree in Psychology, Chad has authored over 17 books on the supernatural, and extensively lectures on his fascinating findings. The more bizarre the legend, the more likely it is that you will find Chad there. Chad will have copies of his books for sale.
Sylvia Shults is the author of several books of paranormal nonfiction, including 44 Years in Darkness, Fractured Spirits: Hauntings at the Peoria State Hospital, and Ghosts of the Illinois River. She sits in dark, spooky, haunted places so you don’t have to. She has spent the last nineteen years working at a public library, slowly smuggling out enough words in her pockets week after week to build a book of her own. She lives a short, ten-minute motorcycle ride away from the haunted asylum that features in so many of her books. She considers it the highest privilege to share the incredible, compassionate history of the Peoria State Hospital. Sylvia will have copies of her book for sale.
Kathi Kresol, founder of Haunted Rockford Paranormal Events, Rockford resident, local historian and author of the book “Murder and Mayhem in Rockford, Illinois” has been researching Rockford’s Dark History for over a decade. She will share twisted tales of love gone wrong and some others featuring true crimes from right here in the Forest City! Kathi will have copies of her books for sale at the event.
